UC Berkeley Campus — start at Sather Gate, relax on the Memorial Glade lawn, and take in the views from the Campanile.
College Avenue — a popular stretch for restaurants, cafés, and boutiques.
Telegraph Avenue — right off of campus, a lot of interesting street vendors. Here you'll find the famous Berkeley tie-dye attire and other things reminiscent of the 1960s ;-)
Fourth Street — upscale shops, restaurants, very pedestrian friendly.
Berkeley Marina — kayaking, running and biking trails. Pack a picnic lunch or grab sandwiches at Seabreeze off of University Avenue.
Fire Trail — a 7-mile (roundtrip) beautiful hike where you can catch views of the campus, Golden Gate Bridge, and the bay. When you get the top, you'll be at our venue :-)
Indian Rock Park — a public park where you can catch rock climbers during the day, and a beautiful view of the bay during sunset.
Tilden Regional Park — 2,00 acre park featuring hike trails, botanical garden and golf course.

One of our fondest memories of Berkeley was the food. Below are a few of our recommendations.
$/$$
- "Asian Ghetto" — the quintessential college food court just a block away from campus that features Italian, Korean, Thai, Chinese. Very inexpensive and be sure to have a boba drink for dessert.
- "Gourmet Ghetto" — a more upscale mix or restaurants located on the North side of campus, including Chez Panisse Café.
- Brazil Café — Tri-tip sandwiches and mango smoothies.
- Cafe La Mediterranean — We had quite a few dinner dates here back in our college days, so it could either be nostalgia or the Pomegranate Chicken that keeps us coming back.
- Cheeseboard Pizza — Gourmet pizza by the slice. Also excellent baked goods.
- CREAM — founded in Berkeley, delicious ice cream sandwiches.
- Gregoire's — High-quality, fresh French food. There is no seating indoors, but a few benches outside.
- Ici — Gourmet ice cream. Be prepared for lines.
- Jupiter Pizza — Laid-back brewery and pizza place, often has live music on the patio.
- La Note — Cute place for brunch. Wait can be long on weekends.
- Thai Buddhist Temple — Every Sunday from 10 am to 1 pm you will find long lines for delicious, plentiful Thai food.
- Yogurt Park — A soft-serve Berkeley institution right off of campus. The "mini" size is enough to share, but you won't want to.
- Zachary's Pizza — Chicago-style, deep dish pizza. Family-friendly.
$$$
- Chez Panisse — Alice Water's famous farm-to-table restaurant. The Chez Panisse Café is located upstairs.
